Three Items I Regret Buying
Have you ever put an outfit together in your mind, thinking that you were going to slay? Sometimes you do, and sometimes you don’t.
Maybe you were having a bad day, or maybe you had the wrong things in your wardrobe.
There were at least three wrong things in my wardrobe. A pink polka dot tie front shirt, a blue and white paisley top, and a white blazer.
I got the shirts from the same place. I made the mistake of not trying on the shirt before leaving the store. Clothes always look better on hangers. I was blinded by how pretty it looked that I didn’t realize it would make me look younger than I already was. I was about fourteen at the time and that shirt probably made me look ten. I paired it with a white vest and a dark wash denim shirt. I don’t have a picture to show it (thankfully). Needless to say, everyone looked dressed up for church while I looked like I was ready to work on a farm. It was a bad day lol.
The paisley shirt doesn’t look bad, it just looks awkward to me to put a shirt underneath it because it’s slightly low, but too low at the simultaneously. A tank top would've been better. I still like the shirt, yet I pass by it every time for something else. I don’t know why. Who knows? I may try to wear it again.
This blazer looks nice, but I think it has too much padding in the shoulders. It doesn’t flatter my shape. I bought this because I wanted blazers in different colors. I had black, striped, and a mint one that I hope isn’t in my house anymore. I stopped wearing it because I didn't feel like myself in it. I felt like lifeless, dead weight. I should be happy in what I'm wearing. Not counting down to when I can take it off. (Unless it's super high, super cute heels).
Some things to consider when buying clothes are trying on the item first, asking a friend for their opinion, and whether or not you can wear that item with at least two to three things. These preventative tips can save you time and money.
