Not Another End-Of-Year Lessons Kind Of Post

I have a couple of questions and I need answers! Do you think when we post our “Lessons I’ve learned in (insert year)” are more for us or for our audiences?

Do we journal what we need to do to improve ourselves based on those lessons or is it all for social media?

If we don’t write an action plan down, not to mention not trying to understand where we went wrong or how those decisions we made in the past year affected us, posting about what we learned just becomes routine.

Why reflect for a few minutes when you can reflect monthly? Weekly? Here's what I tell myself to give those lessons substance:

Hold yourself accountable. Write the steps you need to accomplish your new goal based on the lessons you learned previously. Then set a timer every day or every week to carry out one of those steps so you can be closer to the finish line.

Track your progress to living better based on those lessons. How are you doing? How did completing that step make you feel? Write that down too. If you missed a day or a week, it's not a big deal, but think about what you're losing by not accomplishing what you set out to do. Think about what you need to do to put yourself back on track.

Try something different. Maybe what you did in the past didn't work and it's time to find a new approach.

How can you work faster towards your goal? Will investing in someone with those desired skills allow you to free up your time and still complete your tasks effectively?

I'm proud that you're still here and have a chance to get closer to your desires and dreams. I'm proud of your accomplishments thus far. Here's a little inspiration for us to think different.

God-willing, I'm planning to host another virtual "Plan With Me Sesh" for 2022 near the end of quarter one. If you think you'd like to join me sometime next year around March, you can join the waitlist here.
