4 Easy Steps to a Fun Friendsgiving

I had a blast at my first Friendsgiving event! It was fun to eat comfort food and be surrounded by my friends, just enjoying each other’s company! I’m breaking down what we did so that you can either have your first one too or know how to host these things smoothly!

Figure out who you’re going to invite. See if the people you invited can bring a tasty dish! That way, the responsibility of the food won’t be on a couple of people. Set a deadline for them to RSVP, so you aren’t waiting on people last minute and can gauge how much food you need to make so that everyone can eat your food! It saved us so much hassle!

Plan creative, out of the box activities. A photo booth, Heads Up (like charades), and UNO are good options. We didn’t have a photo booth, but three photographers were on deck so we were able to capture these amazing memories that will live forever! I even learned how to play Spoons! A card game where you have to have four matching cards in your hand and you have to grab a spoon from the middle of your opponents. If all of the spoons run out by the time you make you make your match or before that, then you’re out of the game. We substituted markers for spoons! It was so competitive! Also, one of my friends created a word search with all of our names in them and Thanksgiving themes. It was so cool!

Come with the food already prepared. This step saved most of us so much time! Imagine if each of us had to each cook our food! We wouldn’t have had time for rehearsal earlier in the day and we may have not had enough time to eat everyone’s food either! A couple of people had to still cook something, but imagine if it was all 17 of us!

Bring Music! Get festive with your favorite songs! Bring a speaker and connect it to your phone! Sing along or do Karaoke! We didn’t necessarily do Karaoke, but we did sing along to one of our favorite songs we did a cover of, “Lord You Love Me” by Joshua’s Troop.
